How my July 2025 Hair Test changed everything (again!)

As I dig deeper into my July 2025 Hair Sensitivity Test, I’m still stunned at what it means for me going forward — and I can’t help but reflect on reactions I didn’t even realize were reactions at the time.
This test goes beyond food. It covers botanicals, metals, additives, digestion, stress & inflammation, and even skincare and anti-aging items.
And what I learned? So many things that are marketed as “good” and “healthy”… are actually bad for me.
🧪 Shocking Examples That Hit Home:
- Daily probiotic? I react to at least three of the most common strains!
- My morning collagen? Nixed.
- Homemade fermented almond kefir or coconut yogurt? Nope — I react to the bacteria that ferments it.
- Hyaluronic acid in my body oil? Back on the shelf.
- Lime in my mocktail? Likely had E230 Biphenyl (a citrus preservative) on the peel — a high-reactivity item for me!
And the inflammation panel? Honestly eerie:
- Joints – my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
- Kidneys – Thin Basement Membrane Disease
- Stomach – IBS + GERD
It couldn’t be more accurate if it tried.
🎯 But Here’s the Incredible Part
This test doesn’t just tell you what to eliminate — it tells you what you CAN use safely and how to rebuild.
✅ I have 1,371 safe items out of 1,500 tested.
That’s huge! Instead of just restrictions, I have direction.
So here’s what I’m doing next:
- ✅ Switching to a spore-based probiotic: Bacillus coagulans (This is the one I’m using)
- ✅ Using an amylase enzyme on carb refeed days to aid digestion (This is the one I’m using)
- ✅ Replacing dairy with nutritional yeast, almond milk, coconut cream, and more — all from my safe list
