Often confused with Obesity, Lipedema is thought to effect over 11% of all women worldwide. Lipedema is also known as “Painful Fat Syndrome” or having “Tree Trunk Legs”. Women with the disease are often dismissed by doctors and told to eat less and exercise more – both of which are ineffective for Lipedema.

This condition is not obesity. It is also not caused by laziness or poor self control.

Researchers now believe Lipedema to be a connective tissue disorder with complex comorbidities.

Do you know someone who may have Lipedema? Don’t let them continue to suffer alone. Have them contact me to find out how to get support.

Sooooo glad I found your blog! I was diagnosed with Lymphedema a year ago, but then to add insult to injury the wonderful doctors changed their diagnosis after watching my progress… to lipolymphedema in the early stages. So I am here with you! Xx

SO glad you found the blog! Both lymphedema AND lipedema are underdiagnosed! What a slap to be diagnosed with both! If you are on FaceBook, look up our group “Lipedema and Food Intolerances – a Missing link? Alkaline and AIP”. We have over 250 posts organized into “Learning Units” – would love to continue following your journey, so keep in touch and let me know of your progress!

I read some of the posts on your site. It is likely that your hormone change triggered your Lipedema Fat weight gain, as you… well, basically knew. Let me know if you’d like to chat.
